Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a morning incident at the turn of the Newtown stop, a road accident occurred, injuring three individuals. A private vehicle collided with a cyclist, causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn on the service road. The driver, along with the cyclist and a female occupant of the vehicle, sustained injuries.
According to local witnesses, a speeding four-wheeler was heading from Vishwa Bangla Gate towards Akankha turn. At the same time, a cyclist was riding along the roadside. The vehicle was traveling at such a high speed that it couldn't avoid the cyclist, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and toppling onto the service road.
Both the cyclist and the occupants of the car, a young man and a young woman, suffered injuries. The three injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. The cyclist's condition is reported to be critical.
The police from the Ecopark police station responded to the scene and seized the involved vehicle. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the accident to determine the exact cause and circumstances that led to the collision.
